Special Ceremonies

Wine Box

The wine box wedding ceremony is a wedding ritual where a couple places a bottle of wine and 2 love letters in a box. The letters describe their love for one another and reasons for marrying. Sealing the box during the ceremony not to be opened till their 1st Anniversary. Basically, a romantic time capsule.

Unity Shot

A unity shot is a wedding ceremony tradition where the couple shares a drink together, usually a shot glass of their favorite liquor. It's a fun way to add some personality and playfulness to the ceremony and can also be a way to honor cultural traditions.

Sand Ceremony

The couple pours different colored sands from their own vessels into a single container. The different colors symbolize the couple's separate lives, while the act of pouring the sands together represents the blending of their lives into one. Can also include parents and/or children.

Unity Glass

Much like a sand ceremony, couples combine colored glass crystals called frit as a symbol of their love an unity. These fragments of glass are sent to a glass blower to be made into a vase, ornament, or sculpture.

Ring Warming

A ring warming is when you give your loved ones the opportunity to hold and bless your wedding bands with a wish, blessing or prayer for your marriage. By the time your rings make it on to your fingers they will be saturated with the love of your friends and family.

Jumping the Broom

The Jumping the Broom ritual originated in the early 19th century, when enslaved African Americans weren't allowed to formally marry. Instead, to unite, the tradition was to lay a broom on the ground and jump over it together. For couples today, the act represents a brushing away the past or a fresh start.

Witness Lottery

A witness lottery is a fun way to choose witnesses for a wedding ceremony by having the officiant put all the names of the wedding guests in a bag or box and then having the wedding couple pick two names. This can help to get the crowd excited and avoid anyone feeling left out.

Breaking the Glass

The breaking of the glass is a Jewish wedding tradition that involves breaking a glass or other object to symbolize the end of the ceremony and the start of the celebration.

Handfasting

Handfasting is a wedding ceremony ritual that symbolizes a couple's commitment to each other by tying their hands together ultimately producing an infinity knot. The tradition has roots in Celtic customs, and its often associated with Ireland and Scotland.

Unity Candle

A unity candle ceremony is a wedding ritual that symbolizes the joining of two people and their families. It's one of the most common wedding rituals and can be a very emotional and meaningful part of the ceremony.

Butterfly Release

Butterfly Release

A butterfly release can signify several different things, but when it comes to tying the knot, this ritual is most often associated with love, hope, beauty, and the start of a new journey as a married couple. Can also be in remembrance of a loved one.

Family Puzzle

Butterfly Release

Perfect for merging families. As each person places their puzzle piece, they display their family commitment to stay together always. This ritual symbolizes how separate lives and families are joined together.
